Rebecca + Tom | Paso Robles

Earlier this year I went to an engagement party that blessed me and left me wanting more of Jesus. Let me explain. It was a night filled with amazing God fearing friends who gathered to pray and encourage the newly engaged Rebecca Redig and Tom Nearing. The room was full of the spirit of Christ as people prayed over the couple. I remembered thinking about the passage in scripture when Jesus tells Mary she has chosen “the better portion,” to sit at His feet in the midst of a busy day. Wedding planning is extremely busy and can get very challenging. I had never gone to an engagement party and had the focus of the night be to sit at Jesus’ feet and talk to Him. I was so blessed to be a part of Rebecca and Tom’s engagement prayer night so much so, that I hope I can pass on this awesome idea when I get engaged, some day!

I can go on and on about Rebecca and Tom because they are just the most encouraging friends. I love them to pieces and I am blessed by their love for the Lord.
Day of details:
The wedding was at Rebecca’s family ranch were she grew up in Paso Robles, California. Leading up to the wedding friends and family as well as Rebecca and Tom worked on getting the place ready for the big day. Ziza and Seth from Two Be Events helped coordinate and design the back yard. The pomegranate and pistachio trees added great textures to our floral deigns. The environment felt like an old small town family reunion. The food and dessert was all home cooked. I absolutely adored this wedding and I hope you guys do too. Enjoy this post!

Joelle + Phil | Hollywood, Ca

From B:
I think we fell in love with absolutely every aspect of this wedding and more.  We had the pleasure of working side by side with husband-wife duo, Ziza and Seth Bauer, who planned and coordinated the whole day. They transformed an empty Downtown LA shell into a stunning and romantic old glamour-inspired venue. From the twinkling lights above to the shimmering gold fabric below, everything came together so beautifully. We went with a very simple floral design, using recycled wine and beer bottles as the bases.

There was so much love in that room that night, you could feel it thick in the air. Great friends, delicious appetizers and wine, Godly community, and a dance floor that was on fire; What more do you need?

From Di:
We met Joelle and Phil about two years ago at our church Reality LA. They were the leaders of the Long Beach community group, when earlier this year God called them to move out to Los Angeles. B and I have been encouraged by their sacrifice and faithful service to the Lord and His church. So in late August we had the opportunity to witness Christ uniting these two together. Along with To Be Events, Ziza and Seth Bauer we transformed a film studio warehouse in the Arts District of Los Angeles into a stunning old hollywod event. It was such a blessing to see these two marry in front of family and friends that just have so much love for them! Congrats you two!!

We actually attended this wedding! Here's us during clean up, after we got down and pretty much stole the dance floor (okay maybe not, but we had a blast).

Natalie + Jared | Calabasas, CA

Back is August I had the privilege to coordinate Natalie and Jared's day-of wedding festivities in Calabasas, Ca. It was such a blessing and I had such fun working with the both of them.  They were so laid back during the entire process and they always knew how to just have fun with everything. What more could a coordinator ask for?

It was a scorching 105 degrees Saturday evening. The venue was perched up on a hill, one mile from the main road.  As you drove up the narrow driveway, you were instantly transported to a different place. Once you made it to the top, the view was impeccable and so peaceful.

Despite the big-rig overturned right before the exit everyone needed to take to get to the wedding and an almost 2 hour late start because of it, God was totally gloried in it all! It was such a beautiful wedding and by the looks on everyone's faces, I think the guests would agree.  I love when God uses what should have been a moment of disaster and turned it into the most blessed day for everyone.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned as a coordinator is that sometimes there are things that are just out of your control, like rain, oil spills and the likes.  The best solution to the unexpected is to roll with the punches, don't stress and make it happen, because that's your job!

Here are a few of my favorite shots from wedding! (How cute are they?!)

Sarah + Flo | Fullerton, CA

Why hello there.  It's been some time but hey, better late than never right? Although we've taken a bit of a hiatus (well kinda of, it's so hard for us to say no!), we thought we'd share with you one of the weddings we did early on in 2011.  For some reason it never made it up on the blog, but it is definitely deserving. We introduce to you Sarah + Flo's wedding...

All images were taken with love by the wonderful Andrea Chirita.  Check out her blog here.  How stunning are all her images?  A true God given talent and a wonderful eye to spot beauty in all the little details we so often miss. Thank you Andrea for capturing these for us!

Cody + Kylie | Orange, CA

This past April, Diana and I had the privilege to take part in such a special day! One thing we both agreed on was that the entire wedding was covered in so much love.  From the sharing of communion to the washing of each other's feet, their love for each other and for God was ever so evident!  Cody and Kylie were a pleasure to work with and we enjoyed every minute of it (even if we pulled an all nighter and worked 17 hours straight)!

It was a little bittersweet though because this marked our last wedding for 2012.  With Diana's crazy nursing school schedule, we've decided to take some time off from doing flowers until her graduation next summer. However, I'll still be available for wedding coordination in the meantime.

Flower Power

Recently, I had the privilege to test out my crafting skills for my friend Alexis.  She wanted me to create a beautiful and wild floral headpiece.  I'm not going to lie, my first thought was, "You actually think I can do this?!" But in the end it turned out beautiful! I decided to go with faux flowers instead of real ones because I wanted it to last longer than a few days. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Fruit and Flowers

Ever thought about using fruit in your floral arrangements? Well we think it's rather brilliant. These were some arrangements we did for a bridal shower. It's a great way to add color that often isn't found in flowers and it adds great texture to the arrangements. Also, grouping smaller fruits together, like we did here with these blueberries, gives the arrangement a bigger impact.

One of our favorite florists, Sarah Winward does an amazing job at incorporating seasonal fruit in her floral arrangements. Her use of persimmons, grapes, currents, tangerines, and crab apples is incredibly innovative and stunning.

Turning One

Last week, Fleuri de Di and B+D Delight blog turned one! We have been so incredibly blessed this past year and we've had such an honor to play a role in so many beautiful weddings.  It truly has been a blessing and Fleuri de Di really appreciates all the support and recommendations passed along this past year.

As 2012 has rolled along, many changes and adventures lie ahead. We can't wait to share them all with you in due time!

We hope everyone has enjoyed reading this blog as much as we have enjoyed writing it. Both of our lives are rather crazy at the moment, but this blog has become a refuge for creative output and it has been incredible sharing with you all!

Here are a few weddings that we never got the chance to post. So in celebration, enjoy...
(p.s. both these weddings were completed on the SAME day! Go Fleuri de Di!)
